In a conversation with Ginger’s Chief People Officer, Desiree Pascual, Shelley talks about how through rehabilitation in prison, she rewrote her story to become an advocate for others.

Bio: Shelley Winner is a Restorative Justice Activist, working to reduce crime and recidivism, and advocate for justice for the formerly incarcerated. As a child of teen parents, whose father was addicted to and sold drugs, Shelley struggled with addiction herself. She was arrested for selling drugs and sentenced to four years in prison. Since her release, Shelley has been focused on changing her life and volunteering in her community. She shares her story on stages across the world about the benefits of hiring the formerly incarcerated. Her goal is to inspire and bring hope to others who are currently or formerly incarcerated, or struggling with addiction.
