Ways to help without physically being there
When you can’t physically care for someone, there are still ways to help.
1. Send them a get well card or care package.
Since it’s best not to go to the store except for necessities, get creative with items around your house.
2. Set up a grocery or meal delivery for them.
Ask them to send you a list of items they want, or surprise them with something you think they’ll want. (Setting up deliveries can be time consuming. A little effort on your part can make a big difference).
3. Take care of yourself.
Having a loved one or friend who is sick can cause worry and anxiety. Make sure to get plenty of rest and take time to manage your stress. Do deep breathing, take walks, watch something that makes you laugh.
